Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house using a combined gross house income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any 2025 nsfas application proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or plan to study in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should nsfas login apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have nsfas status check to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
